Dr. Tami’s healthcare interests started when she was a high school gymnast recovering from an ACL tear. After multiple surgeries and 9 months of rehab, Dr. Tami knew she wanted to work in the healthcare field. In fact, she spent so much time in physical therapy she was offered a job as a PT Aide at the age of 17.

She is no stranger to Summit County! Yearly winter and summer trips from Wisconsin with her family became all too common that it’s no wonder, after attaining her B.S. in Zoology at the University of Wisconsin Madison she moved to Frisco.

While taking a gap year before chiropractic school, P.T. Sandy Mortensen of Summit Physical Therapy took Dr. Tami under her wing as a PT Aide and taught her about healing soft tissue injuries, therapeutic exercise and how to help people get back on their feet using various healing modalities.

Fast forward to 1998 when she earned her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from University of Northwestern Health Sciences in Bloomington, MN. and moved back to Frisco. Here she joined a team of chiropractors including chiropractor Dr. Ivo Waerlop and Acupuncturist Dr. Russ Fassolino who gratefully were both her mentors for a number of years.

After a snowboarding injury, she had tremendous pain relief with acupuncture and went on to attain her acupuncture certification. She is a Fellow with the I.A.M.A and is Board Certified in acupuncture.

Dr. Tami has always had a passion to help people on their health journey using various natural methods. What started out as frustration for a patient whose daughter was about to be put on medication for a behavioral situation, opened up a passion that Dr. Tami had inside, which was helping children with their behavioral disorders or ADHD naturally. She went on to earn her Certificate in Treatment of ADHD, Learning Disabilities and Behavioral Disorders from the Carrick Institute, with Dr. Robert Melillo. In addition, she received her certification as a Fellow with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Certification (ICPA).A short time after this, knowing that food sensitivities played a role in how people feel and how children act, she learned how to do Zyto scans for bioenergetic communication as well as received her NAET (Nambudriped Allergy Elimination Method) training.

All of this education to help children and families, lead to a calling for both her and her husband to open Brain Balance Achievement Centers in the Denver area. Her husband Eric, is the accountant in the family and is an amazing coach for the kids who came to Brain Balance. “We were a great team
and had a lot of fun helping hundreds of familes get back on track”. However after their 10 year contract was up, they decided they wanted to
move back to where they met and where their hearts were, and that was Summit County. A great place to raise their family and enjoy all that Summit County has to offer.

Dr. Tami is excited to be back in practice in Frisco once again! She has a whole repertoire of modalities to help people on their health journey. She is accepting new patients at this time and is available for 15 minute free consultations.

Whether you are a local or just visiting the county, she welcomes you to stop by!
